"Sorry, I really don't like summers ..."

Some characters stick with you. This one, Arkturus Foyle, I originally thought up between 2001 and 2002 for a comic strip to amuse some people in an online fan forum. He was a sort of anti-Harry Potter. The 2006 version was part of a pitch I had the chance to present to Kids! WB who, of course, didn’t pick it up.
Funny how things change in over fifteen years: the uncoordinated designs, all wonky edges and cheap Photoshop Elements effects of then, to the rounder, more focused version of now after over a decade of doing professional animation (hopefully) beat some discipline into me. Still, many basic design ideas persist.

A Five Years' Journey's End

This week marks the last of my work on Cartoon Network's The Amazing World of Gumball. Since the second season of 2012 I've been working on the show as a cleanup artist, animator and 2D animation supervisor.
What a trip and a half - let's do it again sometime!

See you on the other side.
